Win with grace, lose with class.

“It’s awfully important to win with humility. It’s also important to lose. I hate to lose worse than anyone, but if you never lose you won’t know how to act. If you lose with humility, then you can come back.”- Bear Bryant

The Irish may have suffered a hard loss last night to the Prince Avenue wolverines, but it is times like these that we must remember to lose with humility and work even harder to be that much stronger the next time. I am so proud of the football team for all of their hard work and this off week is the perfect time for them to have some much deserved rest and get mentally prepared to come back on top next game. God's purpose will always prevail in a timing that is sometimes frustrating. When your heart is humble and willing to see, He says "I will give you praise and honor among all the people of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes." Zephaniah 3:20. So thank God in advance for the way he will redeem your loss and re-direct your path.

#banglewithclass(p)

Why throw on a regular t-shirt when you could be just as comfortable in this cute ruffle bottom swing top from Vignettes boutique?  The fabric is super airy and light which is perfect for staying cool in this southern heat during the beginning of Fall. The perfect accessories are this long necklace and simple bangles both made by @aha.designs. The best part about these bangles is that they have a clasp so there is no need to worry about the fit! #banglewithclass.p You can find all these pieces @vignettes_augusta or order online through shop.aha.designs@gmail.com.

Thanks again Vignettes Boutique for sponsoring this post :)

My true love?!

People say that when you are in love, you think about your love all the time... therefore I have come
to the conclusion that I am in love with peanut butter. Now peanut butter is a protein and healthy fats packed snack, but when you can easily eat 6 tablespoons of it like me... it can become quite caloric. However, Better'n Peanut Butter is the bomb.com because it has 40% less fat and is only 100 calories for 2 tablespoons!! My favorite part about this brand of peanut butter is that it's sticky consistency makes it easy to add additional nutrients like chia seeds and fiber powders (Chia seeds are a superfood that are known for their ability to provide sustainable energy). Fiber powders like Miralax are perfect to stir in if you aren't getting enough fiber in your diet. (The average adult only eats 15 grams of fiber per day. Women need 25 grams of fiber per day, and men need 38 grams per day, according to the Institute of Medicine.)
Better'n Peanut Butter is the perfect match for me- you can dress it up however you want and take it with you when you are on the go in target's handy plastic cups.

Pretty in Plaid?

So my Catholic High School plaid uniform skirt may be in style?! A huge Trend for Fall 2015 is plaid. I witnessed this first hand today at my fitting for the Jeffrey Cares Fashion show (this is a high fashion runway show held every year in Atlanta that showcases the styles of notable designers like Valentino, Balenziaga, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Manolo Blank, etc). Although most of us can't afford these high dollar brands, there are other ways to incorporate this classic pattern into our wardrobes. When you are out shopping be sure to keep an eye out for plaid. The photos shown above were taken at a recent photo shoot for Vignettes Boutique.
Thank you Vignettes for sponsoring this post! :)

Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink.

DRESS:Lilly Pulitzer

NECKLACE:Lilly Pulitzer

AGENDA: Lilly Pulitzer

PHONE CASE: Lilly Pulitzer

PHOTOGRAPHY: Philip Lee

Happy Monday! Being a girl who was born and raised in the South, I absolutely love anything Lilly Pulitzer. As many of you probably know, http://www.lillypulitzer.com just finished hosting their After Party Sale that is home to the best prices a girl can find on everything Lilly. One of my favorite items from this year’s sale is this flowy pink/white dress! Lilly stays true to her style by using the traditional Palm Beach pattern full of bright colors. Don't be surprised if you see some crazy pattern mixing this Fall from other designers because the runways are full of patterns for the Fall. The A-line style (with the fabric being cut on a bias to ensure fullness) is very in for what's to come this fall as well.
Lilly herself once stated that “anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink” and this cute and fashion forward dress is the perfect outfit to take on the world with a confident smile. However, my most useful Lilly treasure is definitely my agenda that keeps me on schedule. If you don't have a day planner, I highly recommend getting one because being able to see the whole month laid out on paper is very useful compared to simply viewing one day's activities on a phone.

Also, HUGE shoutout to Philip Lee for taking these pics and many more that will be featured on the blog soon. He is very very talented and I am lucky to have such a talented friend! So excited for our collaboration. Check out his website http://www.philipleephotography.com.

More blessed to give than to receive

"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "

Yesterday our Red Cross Youth board kicked off the year of service with our Youth Board orientation, better known as "Bonding Day." Close to 100 youth gathered together to plan events for the year and share our enthusiasm for making a difference in our community. Never have I been so inspired by other's enthusiasm to place service above self as I was speaking with fellow youth board members at yesterday's event. The Red cross Youth board consists of approx. 150 High School students from 10 different area schools and a variety of social economic backgrounds. I am so excited and humbled that we received hundreds of new applications from those interested in serving on this year's board. It is truly a blessing to be able to serve along side 150 other teens who would rather wake up early on Saturday morning to sort cans at the Food bank then sleep in! So I would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who attended Bonding Day yesterday for your enthusiasm and commitment to serving as positive role models for other youth in our community. It truly is more blessed to GIVE than to receive. Love you guys!

Invigorate the mind, body, and soul!

JACKET- Lulu Lemon

SKIRT- Nike Kids

PHOTOGRAPHY- Amanda Ferguson Photography

There is something about working out outside that invigorates the mind, body, and soul. Living in
Georgia means that temperatures can get pretty hot but as long as the heat is bearable and I am properly hydrated, I would rather do something active outside! If you are a gym rat that feels at peace knowing that the temperature is going to most likely be the same during your run on the treadmill everyday this week... I have a challenge for you. Take a break from your usual indoor gym routine and get some cardio while enjoying this last bit of beautiful summer weather.

Here's one of my favorite 30 minute running workouts:
  • 4 minute power walk to stretch out
  • 10 minutes easy jog
  • 4x 1 minute sprint interval, each followed by a 2 minute easy recovery jog (the sprints are great for getting your metabolism going)
  • 4 minute power walk/jog to cool down

On Trend for Fall

DRESS: Gracia- Gypsy Boutique (Beulaville, NC)
SHOES: Liliana- Gypsy Boutique (Beulaville, NC)
WATCH: Pink Monogram/ gold chain
BAG: Vera Bradley messenger Bag
I’ve been so excited to blog about this dress that is a perfect transitional piece for Fall. I love this dress because it is perfect for meetings, church, interviews, etc where you need to cover your shoulders but don't want to die of a heat stroke! The best part about this dress has to be the scuba/ neoprene material because (a) it doesn't wrinkle when you sit and (b) it is crazy comfortable. According to Vogue's 20 Trends for Fall/ Winter 2015-2016 post, you can't go wrong with Winter white and it has been seen on many of the major runways.  All this Winter white look needs for a great fall look is this sassy pair of leopard heels!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! So many exciting things are in the works for the blog and I can’t wait for you guys to see some of them soon! Special thanks to Gypsy boutique in North Carolina for this fabulous outfit. Check out their website www.gypsyboutique.us and follow them on instagram @gypsyboutique_llc.
