There is something about working out outside that invigorates the mind, body, and soul. Living in
Georgia means that temperatures can get pretty hot but as long as the heat is bearable and I am properly hydrated, I would rather do something active outside! If you are a gym rat that feels at peace knowing that the temperature is going to most likely be the same during your run on the treadmill everyday this week... I have a challenge for you. Take a break from your usual indoor gym routine and get some cardio while enjoying this last bit of beautiful summer weather.
Here's one of my favorite 30 minute running workouts:
- 4 minute power walk to stretch out
- 10 minutes easy jog
- 4x 1 minute sprint interval, each followed by a 2 minute easy recovery jog (the sprints are great for getting your metabolism going)
- 4 minute power walk/jog to cool down
